Growing up as a military “brat” Michele Vonnegut Costello had the opportunity to begin her at studies at the age of 12 in Italy, eventually culminating in earning her degree in Art & Performance at the University of Texas. Now a long-term resident of Virginia, “Micki” finds herself particularly drawn to depicting the everyday lives and environments of working people. Painting landscapes and nature, portraits of pets, and homes are favorite subjects. She enjoys working in various media and hopes that her work will preserve a moment and evoke a feeling in the viewer, inviting them to pause, remember, and enjoy the beauty found in everyday life.

Peruse our Gift Shop for locally made one-of-a-kind artworks, crafts, or books written and illustrated by locals. Register yourself, your children, or your group for a workshop led by one of our local artists and bring your own creativity to life.
CB Creative Art Center is also the home of the “Colonial Beach Artists Guild Gallery,” a space dedicated to presenting different featured artists or an intriguing, themed show every month.
